Oligopeptide-10 is a shorter biologically active peptide, an antimicrobial peptide used for the treatment of acne conditions, with broad activity against most species of organisms. Consists of 15 natural peptides that provide amino acids with antimicrobial activity against acne bacteria.

Oligopeptide-10 is highly effective against Propionibacterium acnes and can cause rapid cell death. It binds to the negatively charged surface elements (lipoproteins) of the bacteria and can access the cytoplasmic membrane to cause lethal permeability disturbances inside the bacteria. Because of this distinctive mechanical mechanism, bacteria have a lower chance of drug resistance and resistance to oligopeptides that are still susceptible to other antibiotics10. In addition, it neutralizes pro-inflammatory bacteria and reduces redness.
