About Us:
Craftwork Master Thatchers is a family-run business specialising in thatching historic, traditional and listed homes across Kent and Surrey. Led by Master Thatcher Ben Rance, the team brings over 20 years’ experience to preserving the character of period properties. Kent-born, Ben completed a full traditional apprenticeship at Knuston Hall, Europe’s only thatching academy, and founded BRSA Master Thatchers in Surrey in 2008 before returning home to establish Craftwork. Every roof is thatched using time-honoured methods, combining respect for heritage with genuine artistic flair. From cottages to country houses, Craftwork protects and restores the region’s thatched buildings to the highest standards.
